The Al-Rowwad Cultural and Theatre Training Center is an independent non-governmental cultural center based in the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem. Founded in 1998 by its Director Abdelfattah Abusrour Ph.D., Al-Rowwad is dedicated to providing Palestinian children “a means for cultural self-expression and resilience under the harsh realities of the Israeli occupation.” The initiator of the “Beautiful Non-Violent Resistance” campaign, Al-Rowwad is “an independent, dynamic, community-based non-for-profit organization” which strives “to empower children and women.” Dr. Abusrour is an Ashoka Fellow and a Synergos Social Innovator. The Arab Jewish Partnership for Peace and Justice in the Middle East (AJP) brings together Arab Americans and Jewish Americans who advocate for an end to US unconditional economic and military support for Israel in it its occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people. This occupation is a source of great instability and violence that threatens to engulf the region of the Middle East. The AJP supports a peaceful resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict that ensures peace, justice and security for both peoples.
